Meet Valerie Hebert
Valerie is a social worker with over 20 years of practice in the public sector, specializing in mental health.
Throughout her career, she has been deeply committed to supporting individuals as they navigate life’s many challenges, offering compassionate accompaniment grounded in respect, dignity, and hope.
She has extensive experience working with individuals facing depression, anxiety, grief, burnout, caregiving stress, and life transitions, as well as more complex mental health concerns, including schizophrenia, mood disorders, and suicide prevention.
Her practice is anchored in the fundamental right to self-determination, honoring each person’s unique journey and lived experience. She integrates a variety of evidence-informed approaches tailored to each individual’s needs, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Her goal is to foster insight, resilience, self-compassion, and empowerment.
She recognizes the immense courage it takes to seek help and strives to create a safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental space where individuals feel heard, respected, and supported. She looks forward to accompanying clients on a meaningful journey toward healing, growth, and lasting well-being.
Outside of her professional role, Valerie is a devoted caregiver to her father and values spending quality time with family, friends, and her beloved cat, Bello. She also maintains a daily mindfulness meditation practice, which reflects her belief in the importance of presence, balance, and self-care—both personally and professionally.
