Meet Howard Modlin

“I’m always amazed at the creativity of the human spirit in facing and overcoming life’s challenges.”

Navigating the demands of a high-performing professional life while maintaining a healthy work-life balance is never easy. The pressures of managing career responsibilities, relationships, and personal expectations can sometimes feel overwhelming—but you don’t have to face all that alone.

Howard is a licensed psychotherapist with more than 20 years of experience helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, resilience, and confidence. His integrative, solution-focused approach is informed by extensive leadership experience across small, mid-sized, and large organizations, giving him a unique understanding of workplace dynamics, organizational culture, stress, burnout, conflict resolution, and career transitions. He has worked with clients experiencing major life transitions, including grief and loss, retirement, relationship challenges, and the search for greater meaning and purpose. Howard provides a supportive, respectful space where clients can gain insight and build on their strengths while developing effective ways of achieving meaningful, lasting change.

Outside of his practice, Howard is a dedicated family man with a lifelong passion for music. An amateur composer, he has written original pieces to celebrate family milestones and plays the clarinet with a community band. He believes that creativity, humour, spirituality, and meaningful relationships are essential to a well-balanced life.

Committed to giving back, Howard spent many years volunteering for a crisis support line, offering compassionate guidance to people in difficult moments. He also prioritizes his own well-being through regular exercise and weekly hikes on Mount Royal, reflecting his belief that caring for oneself is an important part of caring for others.
